Branded is the third book in the Aspen Valley series by Colette Auclair. I have had the opportunity to read all three books. They have all been very enjoyable reads. They have each had really nice covers as well. I think Branded is my favorite so far, check out that beautiful horse. That alone would make me want to read this book.

Cordy Sims has taken a job in Aspen to get away from home. She needs some time away from her family and friends of a very dramatic decision she has made. She has no intention of meeting a handsome gentleman and speeding a wild weekend with him. However when she meets Jack Cormier when he "accidentally" drops something from the sky, things change. Cordy and Jack have an instant attraction and they both decide to explore where things may lead for the weekend.

Jack and Cordy are pretty steamy right from the start of their relationship. When Monday rolls around and they are suppose to part ways neither is ready. However that is the agreement they made so they part ways.

Cordy has a job to do and this strong willed lady is going to do her best to get it done. I loved her reaction when she finds out that her relationship with Jack isn't quite over. It's changed a little bit now though. Instead of steaming up the bedroom they are now working together to create the perfect plan for a new client.

I had the opportunity to meet Jack in Jumped, the second book in the Aspen Valley series, so it was really nice to read his story. He is one interesting fellow that certainly has a way with the ladies especially Cordy.

As some of you know I love series books because I LOVE to catch up with old friends. In Branded I got to see what Beth and Finn have been up to since Jumped. It was also great to see Amanda, Grady, and the girls. Oh and how could I possibly forget Harris. We all need a Harris around. This guy is funny, the best friend anyone could ask for, and has a talent for making interesting drinks that are just what is needed for the moment.

There are also horses included in this lovely story. Of course they were one of my favorite parts of the story. I love when animals are included in the storyline.

I am going to issues a Kleenex warning on this story. There is one part that you are going to need those tissues so grab them before you start reading. I don't want to tell you what happens but you will certainly know what I'm talking about while you are dabbing your eyes reading.

I really enjoy Colette Auclair's writing style and creativity. Her characters are fun, friendly, and entertaining to read about. I have enjoyed each of my visits to Aspen Valley. I can not wait to see what she wonderful story she comes up with next.

I was given the opportunity to read this great story so that I may share my thoughts with you. As always it has been my great pleasure to share my thoughts with you on Branded.

ok story

This is the third book in the Aspen Valley series but you don't have to read the previous books to enjoy this one. Although it was very slow to start, once
you get past their weekend together and the "interesting" sex scenes, the story really does pick up the pace and turns out very good.
 I enjoyed the previous two books in this series over this one because I think the other two involved horses more than this one.
 It's vaguely mentioned at the beginning that she has a horse and that's how it is tied into the other two books. Like I previously mentioned I enjoyed the 
previous books more and I can't put my finger on why.

A great read, loved catching up with the progress of the others

Genre: Romance, Contemporary.
I loved the first book in this series, but book two was let down for me by the female lead, Beth – I just didn’t take to her. We meet her again here, with husband Finn  and her new baby. I found maybe marriage has mellowed her as I liked her so much more! It was great too to catch up with the wonderful Amanda and Grady, and of course Harris and his cocktails....It was the drama in book one that was the icing for me on a great read – the five star part – when Grady was a first class prick – and led to such sadness from Amanda ( he redeemed himself though – and that's just what I love in a book) Though I enjoyed this read it didn’t quite have that deep drama for me, so book one is still my favourite.
Cordy, I liked her, had the idea that maybe she was hiding the truth, but she’s so closed in nature its hard to see what she really feels. Jack on the other hand is so open he’s almost a heart on sleeve character. A real Southern gentleman, and I’m cross I can’t remember meeting him before – how could I have missed such a fabulous man? He seems to know just what Cordy needs, and when That scene, you will know when you read which part I mean – the one that’s so heart-breaking, hits he was just so perfect with what he did to help Cordy get through it. Its a great story, turned round from the usual where a couple meet and work there way up to sex, here Cordy and Jack meet and are very quickly flirting and more, and then after the magical weekend they need to get to know each other better...it was fun this way round, and lead to some steamy and sensual scenes. When the sh it hits the fan though it really does, and I was rooting for things to go right. I’d have liked just that bit more seeing how they were coping individually then, I need to see them sad, heartbroken, so I can wallow with them, but we seemed to get it via a retrospective glance back after some time had elapsed. It was a “good” sad, but but not quite up with Grady’s prick move!
Stars: Four, A great read, loved catching up with the progress of the others and seeing things like the rescue centre up and running. As a horse lover it played on my all things equine button, and gave me a reading fix that way too. Beth’s ethos mirrors mine, I hate cruelty, and the way horses get passed on all the while. Cordy did say she’d always taken pains to ensure the right homes for hers when they were sold which is good, but for me I knew once I had my horse( s) they’d be with me for life so choosing was a really careful thing.

What am I feeling?...

****BEWARE *********SPOILER ALERT********BEWARE****

I am at lost of words right now. I enjoyed the book but with everything that went on I feel overwhelmed, mad, hurt, sad....and so many more emotions. I can't believe how things ended for Zia this go-round. I hope that she comes out on top in the next installment.

Paige- She came back! Why? What will happen with Jeri now that Paige is back? Will Kimballs feelings for Paige hit her like a ton of bricks? Will Paige forgive Kimball and take her back? Or is Kimball over Paige? I thought I'd get an insight on them reuniting but that didn't happen; Kimball wasn't even mentioned due to the drama.

Kimball- This chick is in a class of her own; she have so much drama that she could have did a reality show by herself. I want to her happy, but geez, she have to get herself together first (Fingers crossed).

For some reason, I feel that Barbie had something to do with what happened to Kenny. If so, I hope she's punished and suffer deeply. She wasn't thinking about Kennedy until after finding out what Zia did and if that's the case then, in my eye's, Zia came out on top because she LEFT Rowland. I can't say the same about Barbie.

Dionne- That girl really need to meet Karma. Karma will give her a good dose of reality. Dionne need to spend a few years on G-Block, in Nae's old cell. She has completely lost her marbles and need to find them asap.

Nae- When will she find happiness? She's the only one that doesn't have 'relationship' drama. It would be nice to finally see her with a wonderful woman that keeps her happy. After everything she's been through, she deserve it and a baby.

Jeri- Jeri's wife need to show up. Enough said.

Can't wait for book 3!

How much drama can one series hold? Whew! I'm exhausted from everything that goes on in these characters' lives. But I suppose that's also why I'm anxiously anticipating the next installment. I have a few issues with some of the characters and their choices but I don't want to spoil the story. Actually on second thought.....

SPOILER ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's kind of odd to me that Kimball is pregnant. I know life isn't black and white but she's a stud. I know she has a problem with being lonely but it's just weird to me. I can kind of understand her past with Greg but the present day sex escapade and resulting pregnancy was kind of bizarre.

As for the Barbie/Kennedy affair, I saw that coming in book one, but I honestly don't want them to work out.

I'm thinking maybe Barbie and Dionne can both go. Or perhaps they can try to kill each other and both end up in jail for an extended period. Either way I want them out of the picture and I want Zia and Kennedy to be together.

I am posting this review on behalf of my wife, as I passed the book to her when it arrived - I already have 2 others on the go. She is fond of reading in "snatches" for a few minutes here and there, but has said
"I am not one for reading a book I cannot easily put down. But this one was so captivating, I couldn't put it down.
The inter-twining of 3 different time-frames kept me riveted.
The author has also interjected the odd "note" that amplified the interest by making you use your imagination - and made me smile.
I would recommend this book to any reader. It is captivating and you really cannot put it down."

I am posting this review having now read the book myself. I can see why my wife didn't want to put it down. It is clearly in the genre of pacy, action-based thrillers, such as the Indiana Jones series and would make a good blockbuster film. The interweaving of three time-periods is adeptly handled; there are enough twists and turns to keep one guessing; and for those whose taste is in conspiracy theory, there is something there as well.

I wont give the game away, but I can see this could give rise to a sequel or a series.

Great Read!

I was worried that I might not get into a book with three different timeframes because most books usually intertwine only two, but everything was so well written that I had no problems getting into the story straight away. The end of every chapter forced me to read more and I actually didn't realise that I had finished the book until I turned the last page! If that is not a sign of a good book I don’t know what is!

There's nothing better than finding a book where you can't wait to read the next page. This is one such book. It has everything that you want, a good pace, plenty of action, twists and a great story. Excellent Story

Personally, they just keep getting better. Generally, the longer the series the more boring the books get. But this story was meant to go on a long time and each book just outdoes the one before. I had trouble laying this one aside! ~ If you are looking for good clean, lovely fiction that honors God but doesn't modernize an older era, I would recommend this book to you wholeheartedly.

A Wonderful Book

This is the fifth book in the Triple Creek Ranch Series and I do believe that this book is one of my favorite in this series. As always, Rebekah A. Morris has done an excellent job with this story and it was a joy for me to read another of her delightful, clean, God-honoring books! Well done, Rebekah!

I enjoyed reading of the lessons the characters learned along the way and how they worked together. I felt for Orlena as she had to swallow her pride and forgive a friend who had been mean to her and I enjoyed reading of Stephen learn to trust Mr. and Mrs. Mavrich and observe their relationships with the Lord. That being a Christian is more than just going to church; it's a personal relationship with Jesus Christ!

I am looking forward to the next book in the series

Favorite in the series!

It's pretty hard to decide which of the books in this series is my favorite, but this one probably comes the closest. ; )

The Setting:
The story is, of course, set on the fabulous Triple Creek Ranch during summer. Awesome descriptions of the season and ranch life (including how to fix a fence, though I still don’t think I’ll ever be able to do it since I’m not strong enough). ; ) Probably my favorite part of the whole setting is the horses especially since there are a few new ones added in this book.

The Storyline:
The storyline was really amazing! Although the book is mainly about Stephen, the author didn’t drop the continued story of Orlena’s growing in Christ. I loved the lessons on reaching out to other and loving them especially the part where Norman says, “God made love to grow, if we share it. We can’t use it up.” Once again, the love of Christ really shone through the characters, and I loved the story of how they cared for Stephen.

The Characters:
The characters were delightful (and I almost have the ranch hands’ names down!) as always. The Mavrichs are just the cutest ever, and I love watching their family grow. Lloyd, Ky, Stephen, and Orlena rank next in my favorites; but I enjoy just about every character there is. (Nice detective work, Bruce! Thumbs up!)

The Concerns:
Parents should have caution in considering this book for younger readers because of some schoolgirl spats including calling another girl a liar. (Resolved, of course.) Also, the marriage relationship in this is very sweet and godly, but some parents may not want younger children to read this because there is a lot of married kissing throughout the book. : ) My main concern however would be SPOILER ALERT!!! an evil, distant relative that has mistreated the boy and is coming to take him back.

I was very excited to read this book and bought it ASAP! I’m sorry if this review is a little sketchy since I usually like to write them directly after I read the book the first time, and this is written from a re-read.

He is the director of Enfield Integrative Health of Enfield, Connecticut, specializing in the treatment of fibromyalgia, and chronic fatigue. Dr. Rob and his wife Vicki make their home in Longmeadow, Massachusetts along with Daisy, a ten-pound Yorkie that nearly has Dr. Rob completely trained.

The Holy Grail of Fibromyalgia Help Books

This book is like the Holy Grail of reference and guidance for people who think they suffer or have suffered from Fibromyalgia, and also is a wonderful source for those with any other auto-immune type struggles, as Dr. Langone outlines many of these so as you can compare and contrast symptoms, etc. As I was reading, I found myself flagging pages, circling entries, making notes, and highlighting. That means a lot to me; if a self-help book has enough content that I find it interesting and useful enough to go back to, I deem it a fantastic book. I am very familiar with the chiropractic practice, having been a patient and also an employee at a clinic. I have taken issue with a lot of chiropractic offices that rely heavily on pressure tactics with patients; to have treatment through guilt and schedules. I know that chiropractic care is helpful and I agree that pretty much every person would benefit in some way if they had care, but since it's typically so sales-pitchy (they are considered an elective practice, so they need to market their practice as much as possible), it's often more off-putting than worth going through, as it makes the entire visit feel disingenuous. Saying all of that, I'm quite impressed that Dr. Robert Langone has put an obvious amount of time and energy into creating this book, proving that he truly is vested in the well-being of people who struggle so much with issues that many health care providers don't want to deal with. Most chiropractors talk the talk, but very few walk the walk. Dr. Langone has clearly done his due diligence into trying to find a way to help people. It seems obvious to me that he cares deeply about people who struggle, despite not knowing his reader personally--he feels the connection to them by way of sympathizing with their struggle. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a thorough and (finally) logical approach to helping with Fibromyalgia. I received a free coy of this book in exchange for a review.

The truth about a real disease called Fibromyalgia.

Right from the beginning of the book, I was captivated by the “LETTER TO NORMALS” by Claudia Marek. I don’t say this lightly at all. It pains me to think that there are still people who think fibromyalgia is fabricated. Those people might as well believe that the world is flat!

It is amazing how genes can skip one generation. The fibromyalgia gene can even skip on child, but the other. What is known is that fibromyalgia patients tend to be overwhelmingly women. In Chapter 2, we are able to distinguish between diagrams of the spine, brain nervous system, muscles/ligaments/joints, circulation, and organs system. This is crucial to understanding how women are affected by this disease. But it is also beneficial to explaining how men and children are also impacted too.

My favorite part of the book is on Eastern Medicine and Western Medicine. In the West, we tend to ignore the benefits of Eastern Medicine. The human spirit does in fact have an impact on the body. Our very own energies, vibes, attitudes, and beliefs have everything to do with whether or not we will overcome a disease. It is not just some baloney to be overlooked. This is why it is important for a fibromyalgia sufferer to find a doctor who is an “Enthusiastic Believer.” This is a book for all patients regardless of their health concerns.

Dr. Langones, insight, research and wisdom from over 25 years of practice is boiled down to a mere 400 or so pages of how to live better, be better and get better. Anyone that "listens" to this book and follows through is guaranteed to get better faster.

AWESOME COUPLE

This is a four part story & yes you must read them all & in order. Suzanne Steele has done it again with yet another hot, sexy, possessive Alpha male. Miller is totally yummy & he also happens to be a Hitman. He has two rules; never the woman twice & no killing women. When he is contracted to kill a woman who her ex husband claims is a baby killer he wants more information. Laura's ex was hoping to get rid of her so he could collect her life insurance & pay off his gambling debt. Miller started watching Laura who was an agoraphobic & knew that her ex had to be lying. There was no way this beautiful, scared woman could kill her baby. After inserting himself in her life the two become extremely close & Laura is transformed into Stormy his new partner in crime.

This episode was great if only for all the new characters Ms Steele introduced. Miller freaked out cause his baby got hurt. We meet Lozardo and the Rodriguez brothers. Hot, crazy and exciting.

Lashell Collins is an American author of romantic suspense, contemporary and paranormal romance. She spent the last twenty years of her life working in veterinary clinics and garden centers in her home state of Ohio, and is now living her dream of writing full-time. Good series

Ethan is book 1 in the Kelly Family Series by Lashell Collins. It tells the story of Officer Ethan Kelly and rookie officer Heather Moss.

Ethan and Heather have an instant attraction to each other upon meeting that leads them to sleeping together. He wants to continue to get to know her but she is afraid and tries to break it off with him.

This is a pretty good story. I liked Ethan. He's sweet, and a good guy. Heather is a tough, strong, likable character. Over all I liked the book and will read book 2 - Storm. I wish it would have been much longer and more involved.

Storm: book 2 of the Kelly Family series by Lashell Collins. It tells the story of Storm and Nina.

I love Lashell's books. She's a very talented writer. The first book in this series was good and I enjoyed it to the point I wanted more. This one however I just couldn't connect with.

Nina was just stupid. She repeatedly did the dumbest things. Like go on a date with a guy she's not interested in, with the hope that it would make him go away??? Then there's the fact that her back door is broken and Storm: book 2 of the Kelly Family series by Lashell Collins. It tells the story of Storm and Nina.

The worst one is her leaving with Bull, knowing that he is stalking her, just because she was embarrassed with how he followed her to the park and bothered her in front of her friends??? Really is the girl brain dead??? Oh and we can't forget her habit of hiding a spare house key in her yard??? Where anyone can see her get it and steal it. I've always wondered in real life if anyone does that?

Ok now there is Storm. There are parts of his character I really liked a lot. However there was also a part of him I really didn't like. I've read plenty of books that has some BDSM in them though I don't generally look for such type of stories. This book has some in it and I have to say I didn't like it at all. I think it's the fact that he's a cop doing it that made it feel so wrong. Especially the spanking. I'm sorry you can color that anyway you like but it's still hitting someone. I don't get BDSM at all. I find those that do it to be weak and pathetic. I mean to get off on hitting someone or to be the one getting hit. I just don't get it.

Over all I did like the story though. It was interesting and I would've liked more to it. It would've been nice to know if Storm made detective or not. Also was his father against him becoming one? Their fight really could have been filled in more. For a short read the story was good and for that I give it 3 1/2 stars.

Frankie is book 3 of the Kelly Family Series by Lashell Collins. It tells the story of K-9 Officer Frankie Kelly and Sergeant John Myles.

John and Frankie are in love and have been seeing each other secretly for a while now. They have kept their relationship secret mainly because he is her boss and she doesn't want to have to deal with rumors of favortiziom. She also doesn't want to del with how her father will take the news of their relationship.

I really liked this one. John is a strong, sweet loving guy who totally supports her in all ways. Frankie is a strong, smart capable woman who is very good at her job and proud to be a cop. I love the chemistry and relationship between the two of them. The story is well written. Lashell once again shows off her incredible talent of story building.

Good book I recommend it to all who like a good read.

Marina is book 4 of the Kelly Family Series by Lashell Collins. It tells the story of bakery shop owner Marina Kelly and Detective Levi Hawks.

Marina doesn't want anything to do with cops. She's surrounded by them just in her family alone and just doesn't want to be involved with one. Levi knows this but he wants her so he lies to her about what he does for a living to trick her into going out with him.

I love it when she finds out that he's a cop. Marina is funny, strong and spunky. I think she is my favorite character of the series so far. The chemistry between her and Levi is off the charts hot. They make a sexy couple. Ms. Collins once again as written a great story that pulls you into it and doesn't let go. I only wish it had been longer.

Good book I recommend it to all who like a good read.

Payne is book 6 in the Kelly Family series by Lashell Collins, It tells the story of Payne Kelly and Phoebe White.

Payne is a cop and a BDSM Dom looking for a new, possibly permanent Sub. When he meets Phoebe their chemistry sizzles and he decides to interview her for the position.

The story was interesting and as always well written. But I didn't like either character at all. Payn e was arrogant, cold, selfish, disrespectful to women and just a total a-hole. I really can't find anything about him that I liked.

Phoebe was just all around sad and pathetic. Sure you find yourself feeling sorry for her being so broken and lost after her Dom died. Still she was just to weak of a character for my liking. I like strong, sassy, independent female characters. Girl power and all that ya know. But she had nothing and that to me dragged the story down.

When you like the story but not the characters that rather makes for a book that is only ok.

Boxed set of a great series at a great price

Boxed set of a great series at a great price. I was hooked on book one and knew I had to read the rest of the series. A cop family in the best form; you've got a little family issue (well maybe more than a little) you've got family loyalty, competition, and harassing, great cops who walk the line and sometimes blur that line to do their job--always honorably. Their love lives have a variety of issues that challenge any relationship. The steam is hot, as are the guys and ladies. Each book is unique because each character is unique and their need and reservations about love different. One thing that is the same, the stories are interesting and the characters are people you care about, their trials and successes make the reader cheer or sad or or angry. You will feel what the characters feel and want to read the next book as soon as you finish one. A hearty recommend.
