Jack Roberts and Javier Arista have found an alien laboratory deep within the Marianna Trench. Inside the lab, its greatest secret has been discovered: the cure for all disease. Their journey now takes them around the world in search of the seven thousand years old artifact. The ride is relentless as they struggle with armed rebels, deadly booby traps and those that would stop at nothing to get their hands on the orb’s cherished data.

Petersen Scores Again!

This series just keeps getting better and better! This time, Jack and Javi are off to track down "The Sacred Orb" - in reality, a sort of "solid-state memory-block" of the sort that served the space-faring Arean race as data storage devices - that contains research that points to nothing less than a cure for all of humanity's illnesses.
In the course of their search, they'll come up against some old enemies and a couple new ones, as greedy pharmaceutical companies, afraid of losing billions of dollars in the revenue they collect from selling symptom-treating drugs, seek to either keep this panacea off the market entirely, or be the sole source of its supply and thus rake in unimaginable wealth and power.
Any more detailed description of this book would wind up including plot-spoilers, so let me just say that - if you've read and enjoyed the four previous books in this series - you won't want to miss this one!

The Ultimate Power of the Atlanteans

This is the fifth book in this series and it is every bit as good as the first four! This is a fun series to read with really lively characters, both good and evil. The relationship between Jack and Javi, the good guys, is always one of respect and admiration. Plus the easy banter between them is more evidence of that love and respect. The book builds to an exciting conclusion spread over the last few chapters which really keeps the reader in the dark until almost the very end.
The only bad thing about this book is the same thing I find in so many books downloaded to my Fire - many misspelled words, misused words and left out or extra words throughout the book. I don't know how books are taken from book form to kindle form but, if it is a matter of proof-reading, then it is a very poor job! My old English teachers, if they are still alive, would have a field day with their red pencils!
Anyway, the story is a fun read, not "edge of your seat" but exciting enough to keep me saying, "I'll read just one more page" and then end up reading a dozen!

From Ancient Time to Today--A True Winner

Christopher David Petersen has never disappointed me. I've read every book he's written, from "A Tear in Time" through the entire Atlantis series. I just finished Volume 5, "Atlantis: The Sacred Orb." The author has a gift for taking the reader back and forth through time (this time, to ancient Greece, and back) and does so seamlessly. Reading his novels is like stepping into the magic of the rabbit hole. I get totally lost in them, completely forgetting I'm immersed in a fantasy world that doesn't exist. This is the sign of a gifted storyteller--one who can take you from your own time and place and transport to you an entirely different realm. Five well-deserved stars!
