A New World of Beauty

I know nothing about math, but Mr. McKeon has intrigued me with this little book on
fractals. Did you know that -1 has a square root? Well, I didn't.
This book isn't really about math and imaginary numbers. It's about enjoying the
beauty of fractals. In fact, at the beginning of Chapter 3 he says, "You can skip this
chapter if you are not into the technical stuff." OK, I like that.
Fractals are patterns in nature that keep repeating themselves as they become
smaller and smaller. The author takes us on an imaginary voyage and illustrates the
beauty of fractals with a number of gorgeous photographs.
If you are just a little curious about fractals and want an introduction to this
fascinating topic, this little book may intrigue you too!
The only thing that I didn't like was that it was too short. Hence, the four stars. I want more.

This is the story of a guy who grabs an opportunity in a time of need, but questions himself, the choice and what that means for his chance at other relationships.

When his father catches Ted messing around with a friend, his father kicks him out. He makes it to graduation and then off go college, but he is on his own to pay for it. Ted is having trouble making ends meet with his waiter job, when a customer (Trace Morrison) offers him a chance at more. Trace not only offers Ted an escort job, but he breaks him in to what that will entail as well. Ted is not sure he can do it, have sex with other men, but he can’t deny how it was with Trace. He quickly becomes popular, and things are going well. That is, until he is faced with the reality that his feelings of being a special someone with a fellow escort are not returned. This begins the the argument Ted has with himself over whether he will be able to ever have an actual relationship given his job.

He eventually meets someone who he thinks is perfect, someone he can actually have the emotional and physical relationship he longs for. They seem to be each others’ soul mate. They get to know one another, but unfortunately, Ted keeps his job secret, and it comes back to haunt him. Ted was kind of stuck at this point, in his contract with the escorting company and needing the money to pay for school, but was ready to give it all up for love. Not acting quick enough caused him another relationship. The other man had been saving himself, and upon learning of Ted’s escorting and porn videos, is just unable to forgive him.

At this point in the story, I still wasn’t sure who Ted would end up with, but it really seemed he would clear things up and find forgiveness, but such was not the case. I didn’t see it coming, who he ended up with, but it was a nice ending. Who Ted thought was perfect wasn’t perfect for him after all, something which he didn’t realize until his friend came back into the picture. So, this story is a bit different in that the two MC’s are not together through most of it. But, while I did wish we had seen more of them together, I did love watching Ted find his way. He had quite a few unique experiences which made things pretty interesting. All in all, this fast-reading little story satisfied my rent boy obsession, and I will definitely be looking at more of Mr. Reilly’s work.

About the Author
Rand Flem-Ath has a Master’s degree in Library Science (UBC) and a B.A. in sociology and anthropology (SFU). He has published on the origins of agriculture in the Anthropological Journal of Canada. Believing that the mythology of First Nations peoples was buried in the interest of colonial conquerors he has been fascinated by worldwide mythology for nearly forty years. She has a B.A. in English Literature (SFU). She has worked in public and academic libraries. In the UK she was an assistant editor for the FT’s Media Monitor. Rand and Rose are the authors of the international bestseller WHEN THE SKY FELL (first published in Canada in January 1995). They live on the Pacific coast of Canada.

I have always been interested in biblical stories and I knew that Sigmund Freud believed that Akhenaton founded monotheism, even though
he used the san as his god. But Aton (the name Akhenaton gave to the almigthy sun) sounded a lot like Adonai (the name the Jews called
God along with Yaweh or Ya and Elohim or El) to Freud, so he delved into the 18th dynasty and explored the connections at a deeper level.
When I head Rand and Rose Flem-Ath were re-publishing Freuds ideas and adding their own research, I was immediately interested and
could not wait to read their ideas. Although nothing in the book can be proven to be positively true, some of the conjectures make good common
sense and are most likely true, especially the fact that Moses wore a veil to hide his face because it glowed too brightly (when in fact it was to conceal his face from those who had known the real Moses) An interesting tale, Maybe more will be found out about it in the future.

Another great book . . .

Zack' s Montana Bride by Maya Stirling is the 6th (?) book in this series. It can be read as a stand-alone or in order. It had me from the first sentence to the very ending . . . I'm fact, I couldn't put it down once I started reading it which is why I am still up at 4am just finishing this book. That makes a GREAT book, in my opinion . . . grabs your attention and keeps it till the end. Now that all 3 friends are married, I am saddened to think this series is over. But even if it is, I know Maya will come out with another just as good, if not better. I can hardly wait to find out. Thanks, Maya, for another GREAT book!!!

This book was a great read. Couldn't put it down. A beautiful story of lost love never allowed to come to fruition through no fault of their own. Years later after many twist and turns reconnecting and finding happiness. Maya has a beautiful way of spinning a sweet And pitching romance in a harsh and intriguing time period. Her books are rich and wholesome for anyone to read.

Great book!

I loved this book, and especially that it wasn't filled with raw sex, which I don't feel is necessary to describe in romance books. It was more of a "true life" adventure of two folks who onced loved each other when young, and were fortunate enough to find each other again, years later. I really liked this book. It's a "feel good" book that I really enjoyed.

My first book by this author and enjoyed it...but it ended way too soon to me.
Give them some more Ella....so much could be done with this....would really love to find out how it all goes down...you peaked my interest and my imagination for these three!!

About the Author
Dr. Donielle (Doni) Wilson is a nationally celebrated naturopathic doctor, certified professional midwife (CPM), doula and nutrition specialist, who is dedicated to maximizing the health of women, men and children, through natural approaches. She has a doctorate in naturopathic medicine from Bastyr University, as well as a bachelor's degree in nutrition and a bachelor's in science from Oregon State University. She is also the author of the book The Stress Remedy: Master Your Body's Synergy and Optimize Your Health, in which she explains how and why we experience stress, how it impacts our health and wellbeing, and how we can reclaim our health naturally. She is also the creator of the Hamptons Cleanse(TM) - a popular nutritional regimen that reduces inflammation, heals digestion, supports detoxification, and brings the body back to a state of optimal health.

Dr. Doni started her career in a naturopathic clinic helping patients with environmental and food allergies. There, she created a specialized approach to food intolerances and "eating for health." She then established started her own naturopathic practice in 2001.
