“So you fix broken hearts, do you?” I ask. “Seems a little ironic.”
Noah Carter is one of the best cardiothoracic doctors in the country. He’s incredibly intelligent, funny, kind and he’s a beast in the bedroom. He has scars that drizzle down his chest and painful memories of an unforgettable night that plague his every waking hour.
Seven years ago, Noah stumbled upon me at the side of a grave and saved me in one of the most compassionate ways another human being can save another. I will always love him for that. Always.
He loved me in a way that no man has ever loved me since, and I gave him everything. I gave it all to him until my secrets and lies tore us apart, forcing me to shatter his heart into a thousand little pieces.
Seven years ago, he loved me…but now he hates me. And I hate that he hates me. Leaving Noah is my biggest regret in life - and I have a lot of things that I regret. A lot.
I’m Ariel Miller, and this is the story of Noah and Me.

loved it
By B&B Book Blog
Noah and Me by Beckie Stevenson is a wonderful story about tragedy, loss and love. It is a story that will pull at every heartstring you have. My expectations when I started this book were a little unclear. I anticipated a good romantic story; however, I got so much more. This story really touched me. I laughed, I cried and, most of all, I fell hard and fast for these characters. Their story is powerful and just draws you in.
Ariel Miller has just finished University as a Midwife and has returned to where she grew up to start her new job. She does not intent to bring her free-spirited lifestyle along with her move. Since she left for University, she has not had a relationship with a man for more than one night. However, she is a strong girl that has done what she thinks is needed to work through a painful past.
Noah Carter is now a 30-year-old heart surgeon trying to move on with his life. He is focused on work and seems a little mysterious to his co-workers and apartment neighbors. He also is the owner of the building that Ariel has just moved into. They first meet each other when Noah is still in University and Ariel has just turned 18 just days after she has experienced a horrible tragedy. In their short time together, they develop a deep, ever-lasting connection. However, Ariel cannot get over the pain she has experienced and refuses to bring Noah down. She ends up abruptly leaving Noah after a short time with no real explanation. She breaks them both in her departure and does not ever plan to look back.
“I hate how you confuse me, he tells me. “ I hate that you make me question everything, and I hate that you make me vulnerable. You’re the only person who’s ever made me feel that way.”
Both Ariel and Noah have experienced something in their life that no one should ever have to in their lifetime. They have both lost their entire family at a very young age and have had to learn to move forward alone in the world.
When Ariel moves in, she attends a birthday party and runs into Noah in her new apartment building. Seeing each other again, all the pain they experience immediately comes bubbling to the surface for both of them. It has been seven long years since they have seen each other, however, all the emotions seem just as powerful as the last day they were together.
“You’re in the wrong job,” I say sarcastically. ~Ariel
“Yes,” he agrees, “I am. Because what’s the point of being able to fix broken hearts if I can’t fix my own” ~Noah
This book is written in first person from Ariel’s point of view with the exception of some of the epilogue that we get to hear from Noah. The story flips back and forth from the present to seven years ago when the couple first met and really helps the story move along. Overall, the story was beautifully written with some heart-stopping moments of pure love and pure pain. One minute my heart would soar and the next my heart would ache. I recommend that you do not pass this one up! You will not be disappointed.

4.5 stars; Left me with a book hangover!
By Confessions of a YA & NA Book Addict
This book has left me reeling. I'm not even sure where to begin. The story is powerful. It's told in alternating chapters for the most part, going back and forth between the past and the present. I was gripped by the story and didn't put it down once, not even to wipe my tears when it became hard to read.
My heart broke for Ariel, very early on in the story. I really like I was there as she went through so much. I wasn't sure if what she was hiding and running from was so devastating, but when I found out the entire truth, I was gutted and enraged. Every time a little piece of the story was revealed, I wanted to find out more, but even my guessing couldn't have prepared for me what I was going to read.
Noah was a bit of a mystery for me. I was ambiguous about how I felt about him. Sometimes I liked him and sometimes I really disliked him. However since I at times felt similarly about Ariel, it was hard to gauge my feelings towards either of them. I can't deny they had chemistry and history in spades though.
I found discrepancy between their ages. When Noah and Ariel first meet, they're 23 and 18 respectively. When they meet again, they're 30 and 23. I was also disturbed by their intial interactions with each other. It was hard to see where they'd fallen in love with each other. I also would've liked to see more elaboration with the identity in one of the scenes in the climax at the end.
Honestly, even though there were times I didn't like the characters or their actions, I could not stop reading the book. I had to know what happened between them and made them almost hate each other. It was full of drama, angst, and emotion. It was dark but still full of hope. I think this book is going to be very polarizing. You're either going to love it or hate it, but you can't deny it's captivating. This is my first novel by Beckie Stevenson, and it won't be my last.

If your a victim of abuse - please take caution
By melissa
Let me start off by saying the book was good. I enjoyed it to an extent. I myself had an issue with the book. As a reader, I appreciate and expect authors to give some kind of warning when a book touches on highly sensitive material.
I don't want to give any spoilers, but I will say that the storyline hit very close to stuff that occurred in my past and had I known I would have mentally prepared for it or not read it at all (depending on my state of mind). Unfortunately, I was too invested in the book to stop, even when I should have because it brought back unwanted memories.
So, note to author, please put some kind of warning so that others are aware, it just shows your understanding of the issue at hand more than just writing about it.
