After the fantastic 'Behind Shadows: A Psychological Mystery Thriller (The Adam Stanley Series Book 1)', I hoped Ms. Newbound would turn this into a series and quickly release Book 2. Once again the wonderfully talented writer does not disappoint with this lightening speed sequel. Deviating massively from the plot line of the first book, this sequel picks up not long after the end of Book 1, and whilst not focusing on a lot of the characters from said book, apart from Adam Stanley of course, they do feature along the way, which is nice to read as I was so invested in those characters, that it is nice to find out where they all are now. Whilst Book 2 is not as nearly as shocking, it is no less of a thrilling read, even though we know from the start who is dispatching the victims into early graves and why. The way Melissa dispatches said victims once again makes my over active imagination run riot, but I have come to expect that from Ms. Newbound, as she does seem to favour a 'little bit' of horror and gore.
Saying the above, I really felt for the main character as empathy spilled from it's pages, whilst at the same time hoping her Husband got what was coming to him also.
Does he get what is coming to him? Well the answer is.... buy the book and find out for yourself. I guarantee you will not be disappointed by the end on many counts!

Read this in a day, full of suspense, easy reading and you get into the storyline straight away which I like, a real page turner, just like the first book in this series.

Loved this book. Totally different than I expected. It started off with a husband telling his wife he had HIV and obviously she was tested positive too. But what happens after surprised me. I loved the character Mel the wife and her actions changes the whole story. I have read one or two by Netta and have loved them. Well done - Helen Lancaster

ABSOLUTELY SATISFYING SEQUEL

Netta knows how to shock and thrill her readers.

As soon as I pick up a novel written by this author I know I'm in for an enjoyable reading experience.
Positively Murder is the second book in the Adam Stanley series. It would help to have read the first in the series though the author gives the reader enough information from the previous one so you wouldn't feel to lost in the story if you haven't had the pleasure of reading the first novel to start with.
Even though Adam Stanley is a detective, the series doesn't really have the feel of a normal crime novel. The author seems to prefer to play with the readers minds and to shock them. It definitely feels more like a psychological thriller than a crime thriller. I think mainly this is because the story focuses mainly on Melissa than it does on Adam.
My heart really went out to Melissa in the story, I mean if it wasn't bad enough to find out her husband is HIV positive she has to deal with a whole array of shocks and surprises that come one after another, so to be honest it wasn't a surprise that all that she was having to cope with finally throws her over the edge and sees her struggling to keep sane.
Gavin right from the start I didn't like him. You would have thought being diagnosed with HIV would put a stop to his extra marital affairs but sadly not. He is a very selfish character and to be honest I would have been quite happy for Adam just to have let him go down for the crimes he was being accused off.
Netta's novels are always relatively quick reads for me as I she draws the readers straight in from the start. The storyline is always one that grabs my attention and I know once I start one of her books I won't be putting it down until I've finished it.
Netta Newbound is definitely not an author for the faint hearted but if you love to be shocked and thrilled then I highly recommend reading her books.

MURDER AND MORE MURDER!!

After reading Book 1 I wanted to continue reading Book 2. Very good book graphic but still worth the read. I love that the detective was from book 1 and they spoke about Amanda from book 1. Truly love books that carry on a story line. RATE this a 5 Stars
