Casey is a brilliant detective with an impressive career

Casey is a brilliant detective with an impressive career. But after a drug-bust goes horribly bad, she loses the woman she loves and must begin again. In the aftermath of heartache, she realizes that a series of gruesome murders may have been committed by something not just inhumane, but inhuman. Together, she and her sidekick set out to solve a crime that’s generations in the making.
This novel is a fun romp through classic horror tropes with a fun twist—not only is our protagonist a highly capable woman, she is a lesbian, something rarely seen in the genre. The story is compelling and the characters engaging, which makes it a worthwhile read. The horror scenes are hellish, but the erotic scenes are hot as Hell.
Do be aware that the editing could use some work. There are spelling errors and punctuation issues in large quantities. I mention this so that other readers will not be taken aback. However, if you give this book a chance, I’m sure you will see that it isn’t so much that this book needs a good editor as it deserves a good editor.
For your time and money, this book is definitely worth a shot.

I'm writing this review against my better judgement. Normally i do not write a review for 3 or lower star rating. What i did not like about the book is the simple things that should have been caught in the proof reading. Such as misspelled words and hyphenated words that did not need it. Granted those things can be overlooked as you read through the book. Now on to the things that i did like about the book. It did have a good storyline that was well structured. It also kept your attention and guessing to what could happen next. Though this is the firs book that i have read by Jordin, I still look forward to reading more of her books.

Good detective story with a bit or gore and eroticism.

I was given a review copy of Blood Runs Deep by Jordin Thiele
This horror story began with the slaughter of several people, who's body parts were found scattered around an old warehouse. Detective Casey Mark's had been present during the time of the slaughter, and was confused by how fast everything had happened as well as the brief monstrous figure she had seen. Something was defenetely out of the ordinary, but nobody took her observations seriously at first because she had lost a lot of blood after being shot while the slaughter took place.
As more body parts are discovered and people are found with bite marks on their necks, the investigation gets more curious. The reader is clued in about the paranormal explanation before the detectives find out, which was interesting; we could see both sides of the story.
The author left a few surprises in the book so it was not predictable.
There were several sexual scenes (solo, lesbian, and hetero) which I found to be either out of place at times or much too descriptive, but that is just my personal opinion. I was not tempted to stop reading the book because I wanted to find out the outcome of the story, but was a bit confused the first time an explicit sexual scene started and continued on for more than a page. It was almost like I was reading a completely different book. But, once I got used to the author's style and choice of words it was ok. To be faire, I didn't realize that it had been the author's intention to write an erotica book when I first agreed to do the review. I was simply expecting a paranormal story. To be honest, the book would have been just as good without most of the sexual parts, which I ended up skimming through rather than read in full detail. Some of the sexual scenes were actually necessary though.
I thought the story in general was very well thought up and the interaction among the characters was realistic. Although the author talks about a fictional monster, the story was still believable and easy to get into. The ending left room for another book, which I would be curious to read.
I enjoyed reading this book and recommend it to those who love detective stories with a bit of gore and exoticism.
