About the Author
Troy Dvorak was born in Minnesota but grew up in Canada. He lived in Canada for 26 years and received all his education there. In 1996 he graduated with a Master’s degree in Psychology from Lakehead University. After graduation, Troy worked for 7.5 years as a psychometrist at a children’s mental health agency, providing psychological assessment and treatment services to kids, teens, and families. In October 2003, he moved back to Minnesota and began teaching psychology classes at community colleges in the Minneapolis area. Whether in a clinical or teaching capacity, Troy has always enjoyed having the opportunity to help others. In his personal life, Troy enjoys spending time with his family. He also enjoys traveling. He is a self-taught drummer and just started trying to learn to play the guitar in 2014. Troy is a huge fan of 80s hard rock and “hair” metal. That is pretty much all he listens to. Yes, this college prof ROCKS!

This is a great book full of helpful advice

This is a great book full of helpful advice. It focuses on the way we think and the beliefs we have that can impact our ability to learn in both positive and negative ways. Knowing HOW to learn is a skill and this book will help you develop the skills you need to be a successful student. It is full of psych terms that can be intimidating at first. Stick to it! The author does a great job of explaining them and helping you apply them to your life as a student. This book will make you feel like you can tackle your most difficult class because the power is in YOU! Happy reading!

I highly recommend this book for anyone

I highly recommend this book for anyone. Regardless, if you are starting to take college level courses, or may be in need for some tips on how to become better at studying. Or, if you're in high school, and are thinking about going off to college, then this is the book for you! PK2SS has taught me new study habits in order to thrive and become a more successful student! Give it a try, I assure you, it's worth your time.

This book was an easy to follow, easy read "tool" that has enhanced my academic performance. The chapters are short and flow in consecutive order that make sense. IT DOES NOT READ LIKE A TEXT BOOK, which I have found to be quite appealing and a less intimidating read. I read it in two days, and I am a SLOW reader!
